When visiting Manhattan, I know it’s a must to try different restaurants near Houston Street in NYC. This major street runs from the East River in East Village to the Hudson River in West Village, connecting the east and west sections of the island.

Russ & Daughters Cafe – 127 Orchard St

This modern American restaurant is quite popular for breakfast, lunch, and brunch; and for good reason. It was named “One of the 10 best new restaurants in New York” by The New York Times.

You may have to wait a bit to get served, but you’ll know it was worth it when you try their iconic bagels! Trust me, there’s so much variety you’ll want to have a bite of everything.

Down for some authentic Japanese food? Raku is a cozy little space with top-notch dishes, excellent service, and good prices. Be sure to bring some cash with you since the restaurant is cash only. 

If this is your first visit, you can’t go wrong with their classic Udon noodles and fried chicken –the stars of the menu!

Furthermore, it’s hard to tell the place is a restaurant from the outside. So, look for a wooden door covered by a piece of fabric 😉
