One of the best romantic getaways on the East Coast USA is Portland, Maine. It’s a gorgeous, oceanside city with charming cobblestone streets, exceptional seafood, and plenty of awesome lighthouses to explore.

So, when you visit, take a romantic walk hand in hand through the cobblestone streets of the Old Port area, but you can catch a local ferry to Peak’s Island. The ferry departs regularly and the journey takes around fifteen minutes.

Once there, rent some bikes and ride around the island. Admire the sweeping views and local out for the gorgeous lighthouses Maine is known for. If you want, you can even rent a golf cart. But, the island is small enough and flat enough to ride around by bike.

Another one of the best things to do in Portland, Maine is to take a day trip to Cape Elizabeth and admire Portland Head Light. It is a stunning lighthouse that is on every Maine travel brochure. Plus, the surrounding park is huge. So, you and your partner can enjoy a scenic walk through the park and take in the views of the ocean while you admire this amazing structure.

Afterward, enjoy a romantic dinner at Street & Co. It is an exquisite seafood restaurant that is known for its impeccable service and even better food. Try the lobster diabolo for two and the mussels Provencal. Both are amazing and it’s the perfect place to stop since Maine is known for its incredible seafood.

Secluded Tree House with Lake in Willow, New York

By Nofar from Traveling Outside the Box

I wanted to tell you about the most romantic place for your Valentine’s Day and I’m sure many of you don’t know it at all. Actually, it’s a recommendation for several places. The first is a recommendation for the town of Woodstock in New York State (the name certainly sounds familiar to you, it is the same as Woodstock’s festivals). It is a hippie town, full of small and special hippie shops and artists’ galleries, nestled between mountains and green vegetation (in the summer, if you come in the fall, everything is in fall colors). There are charming cafes and a romantic and quiet atmosphere in general.

Recommended cafes are Garden Cafe, a vegan cafe with surprising dishes, and the Moonrise Bagels bakery which has excellent and special bagels.

But the highlight of the area is a 10-minute drive to a very secluded spot in Willow. At first, you’ll think you’ve arrived in the forest and you won’t understand where you are, but then you’ll discover a treehouse with the coolest design there is.

The cabin is by a small pond and there is also a hot tub outside to complete the romantic atmosphere. The cabin itself is decorated to the highest standard with a small kitchenette, a big window with a view of the pond and the forest, and a comfortable bed. There is no internet or television there so it is actually the perfect place to enjoy a couple’s time without any interruptions. The name of this cabin is Treehouse Willow.

Romantic Things to Do in Woodstock

Montauk, New York

By Samantha from Find Love and Travel

Located at the end of the South Fork peninsula of Long Island, New York, this village is one of those whimsical seaside villages. In fact, it is one of the best places to visit on Long Island.

The entire area just has a romantic allure. You feel completely cut off from the busy streets of New York and, instead, are welcomed by the calm ambiance of the sea. The people here are also very friendly!

Montauk is best known for its fishing and surfing culture, but it will be a little too cold to hit the beaches just yet. However, a romantic walk along one of the beaches in Montauk is a great way to start the day off right. Gin Beach and Shadmoor State Park are well worth the visit.

During the day, you can book a guided tour, go biking, or hike within the various state parks.

For lunch, you can share Lobster Rolls at the famous Lobster Roll and head to the Montauk Lighthouse for a romantic stroll down the shore.

After, you can end the night with a romantic dinner at Harvest on Fort Pond, but make sure to make a reservation in advance.

Montauk also has some pretty great accommodation options. Opt for a cozy, romantic inn or a fabulous beachside resort!
